Fitness Blender Review: Get Fit for Free at Home

I was first introduced to Fitness Blender back in 2012 when I was searching for workouts that I could do from the comfort of my home. I was really struggling to get into the groove of working out again after having gone through gallbladder surgery and I felt like I needed something that would give me a variety of workout options.

I used Fitness Blender off and on for the next few years, but it wasn’t until January 2, 2017 when I really started to take exercising seriously. I knew that if I wanted to stay healthy and get back in shape, I needed to find something that was going to keep me engaged while also taking out away any excuses I had for not working out (e.g. paying a membership fee, driving to the gym, etc.).

So of course I logged onto the site, started creating a calendar of videos, and I got down to business.

Fitness Blender Review: Get in shape for free in the comfort of your home. Exercises cover everything from HIIT to barre, stretching to Pilates, and everything in between.

What is Fitness Blender?

FitnessBlender.com was created by Daniel and Kelli to give people workout videos free of charge. When you go to the Fitness Blender website, you will see full workout videos, exercises, and different health and fitness articles. Several of the workouts require no equipment, meaning that you don’t need to spend a fortune on exercise gear to get in shape. Also, Fitness Blender’s workouts don’t require much space, so you can easily complete them in the comfort of your home.

What Workouts Will You Find

Legs, Arms, and Abs… Oh My!

Fitness Blender offers a wide range of exercises. Whether you are looking for HIIT (high intensity interval training) workouts, yoga, barre exercises, stretching, pilates, or just simple cardio workouts, you are sure to find something that fits your lifestyle.

The workouts vary in difficulty, ranking anywhere from 1 to 5 on the Fitness Blender difficulty scale. You will also discover that workouts range anywhere from 5 minutes to 90 minutes. So if you are in a time crunch but still want to get a workout in, try one of the shorter exercises. You will still get a good calorie burn but you won’t have to devote a lot of time.

There are also low impact workouts for those who don’t want to do all the jumping. This is great for people just starting, or who live in an apartment or condo.

Fitness Blender Workout Video: HIIT the Deck

Take a look at this video to see how a typical Fitness Blender workout looks. You will see that the video always tells you what equipment you will need (if any), how many exercises are included, how many rounds, and how long you will be performing each exercise. It will also let you know if a warm up and cool down is included so that you know if you need to do some stretching and light exercises beforehand to get your heart rate up. I like working out with the video because I feel like I’m actually taking an exercise class. Daniel and Kelli talk to you while you workout and encourage you to stay strong… something I definitely need!

Choose Your Own Workout

Fitness Blender’s YouTube channel features tons of videos that you can use for exercising and staying healthy. New workout videos are being added constantly, so check back frequently to see what workout challenge awaits you! The video titles always tell you what part of the body that particular video workout will be focusing on, so you can easily browse through the video library and find one to fit your needs.

If you go to the Fitness Blender website, you will be able to do a more advanced search according to what kind of workout you are looking for. There are filters for exercise type, difficulty, and for equipment or no equipment.

I have found Fitness Blender’s workouts to be very effective. I feel stronger, more energetic, and my body has become much more toned since I started using these videos. Even on the days when I’m sore, Fitness Blender has some recovery cardio workouts that allow me to exercise without completely killing my muscles. Whatever level you are, there is a workout for you!

Workout Programs

Fitness Blender has a variety of different workout programs, from FB Booty to FB Sweat. I recently completed round one of FB Booty and have seen amazing results in just four weeks – even my husband has taken notice!

How to Get Started

All you need is a little motivation and some space to complete the workouts! This isn’t some crazy exercise program that requires you to spend $100 just to get the equipment and DVDs. Fitness Blender sets you up for success by providing these videos free of charge so that you can get fit without breaking the bank.

Fitness Blender’s Squat Challenge

Have you heard of the 30 Day Squat Challenge? Fitness Blender decided to create its own squat challenge to make sure you are getting the best workout possible. You will notice that there are 10 different types of squats used in this workout, and they are all designed to target different areas of your butt and legs. I highly recommend it!

My Fitness Blender Transformation

At the end of 2016, I realized how out of shape I was… my energy was low, I had little motivation to do anything, and I just felt sluggish overall. I tried other workouts to try and get myself excited to exercise again. Although I felt better when I did exercise, I still felt like I was missing that spark.

I made a pact with myself that I would make being a healthy a priority in 2017, so I started making a plan and scheduled time to workout five days a week. Now, I find myself looking forward to my next workout. Even when I do a really hard workout, like the HIIT videos, I still feel motivated because Daniel and Kelli keep telling me that I can do it.

Below, you can see my upper body transformation from using Fitness Blender videos for seven months (I did upper body workouts, mainly strength, twice a week). I still have work to do, but I’m so proud of how far I’ve come! To know that these results can happen without stepping foot in a gym is just amazing.

I’m 61 years old and use fitness blender 5 days a week. The HITT workouts are my favorite because they reduce my anxiety and stress which has plagued me most of my adult life. Without FB, I would not be as fit as I am.
