Foro: A Must-Have App for College Students

This is a sponsored post for Foro. Please note that all opinions are 100% my own.

Have you ever found the perfect item on one of those large public classified forums only to find out that it’s a scam?

Talk about a letdown!

Or how about finding a textbook you need, only to see that it will take a week to get to you? By the time you actually get the book, you’re two days into a class and already behind in the required readings.

There has to be a better way!

Lucky for you, there’s an app for that.

Let me introduce you to the marketplace made specifically for college students – Foro.

Want to make some extra money as a college student? Join Foro - an app that lets you safely sell your unwanted items to classmates on your campus!

What is Foro?

Foro is a free app that allows college students to buy and sell stuff with other students on their campus. Available in both the App Store for iPhone users and Google Play for Android users, Foro is easy to install and set up.

And since you need to spend more time hitting the books than dealing with the frustrations of selling things online, you’ll appreciate that Foro was made with your specific needs in mind.

Does My College Participate?

Students from schools all over the United States and Canada are using Foro to sell and buy stuff, so the odds are good that your school is one of them!

You can find an entire list of schools that participate here, but be sure to check back regularly as more and more campuses start to utilize the platform!

Why You Need to Start Using Foro Today

Odds are that at some point during your college years, you’re going to buy a textbook or some type of merchandise that you won’t want to keep for long. Personally, I couldn’t wait to get rid of some of my textbooks once the semester was over because they just reminded me of how much the homework sucked.

Unfortunately, you don’t always get the best value from the bookstore and oftentimes you might want to sell outside of book buyback week.

That’s why Foro is so great.

Let’s say you start a class late and all the used books have been bought. You can hop onto the app and start searching for other students who might have that exact book for sale.

Not listed?

Create an alert! When your desired item becomes available, you’ll get a notification. This is so much better than sifting through endless ads on other sites in hopes that you’ll hit the jackpot and find the item you need from a legitimate person.

You can also use the app to find dorm room swag or to make a little extra cash on the side. Ladies, I’m talking about getting rid of some of those clothes or accessories sitting in the corner of your closet that are wasting space!

Get Your Deal On

If I don’t have you convinced yet, then maybe this will do it:

Using Foro allows you to get great items for less than the sticker value you would pay at a retail store!

Being a broke college student sucks, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t find nice things for a fraction of the price.

For example, if you really want a TV for your dorm room but just didn’t have enough money to purchase a new one, then you can search Foro and find any that are listed for sale on your campus. There always seems to be at least a few pairs of roommates that both bring their TVs and need to get rid of one of them, so odds are that you can find a great deal.

Foro Keeps It Local

As I mentioned before, Foro allows you to participate in a marketplace that’s unique to your campus. This cuts out on spammers and allows you to get quicker access to the items you really want.

Another awesome thing about keeping sales local is that it helps establish community between you and your classmates. Who knows, you might even connect with someone who turns out to be a great friend of yours in the future!

So What Are You Waiting For?

Friends, you have absolutely nothing to lose by downloading the Foro app. So stop what you’re doing, go check it out, and let me know what you think in the comments below!

Hey Tori! Thanks for this detailed review! We’ve actually recently partnered up with The Foro as well and together came up with The Foro Scholarship ($500), if you want to let your readers know about it. It’s a super easy one- students simply need to download the app (which I’m sure they will after reading this post) and enter the email address they used. A random winner will be selected to receive $500! Our hope is to alleviate some financial burden off of college students’ shoulders.

    Students can apply here: http://www.tun.com/blog/the-foro-scholarship/

Thanks! Love your blog btw- have been a fan for a while.
