Dear friend,
Today does not have to just be another day of going through the motions in this journey called life. Yes, it’s Monday… I know that most people dread today because it is the furthest from the weekend that you can get. But don’t let that fact be an excuse. Monday was made to be just as important and exciting as your Fridays (crazy thought, I know). We’ve created it to be this terrible thing because we’ve lost sight of all the hope it can actually bring.
Monday is actually a very important day. It is pivotal in how we foresee the rest of the week going. If we approach it with a more negative attitude, we may be setting ourselves up for a long week… One that just drags on and holds no true purpose.
But creating a motivational Monday requires more than just a mind change – it requires a heart change as well.
You see, the mind is much easier to trick than the heart. We can sit at our desks and try to convince ourselves that Monday is not the worst day ever, but if we don’t feel the motivation deep down in our hearts, then can we truly allow our mind to see it differently? Maybe for awhile, but eventually that good feeling wears off and we’re back to the same place that we started – dreading the Monday we have been given.
The Call to Change Your Dreaded Monday into Motivational Monday
As I’m typing this out to you, I’m typing it and saying it to myself also. I’m challenging all of us to make this day a motivational Monday – one that is a game changer in the way we approach life.
There will be no more going through the motions or making excuses to not reach our dreams. We are powerful human beings full of desire and inspiration. Even when we aren’t feeling our best, we still have a great opportunity to make an impact.
Create your own motivational Monday by making to-do lists, writing down goals, speaking highly of yourself, paying it forward, or anything else you can think of. The options are endless!
Friends, we never know how many days we will have on this earth. We have to look at each day as being just as important, if not more important, than the one before it. Mondays are no different. I know you’re tired and you probably have a lot of stuff to face this week… trust me, I am right there with you! But imagine how much greater your week could be if you started it off on the right foot. Don’t wait until Wednesday to get to your happy place… find your motivation today and let it carry you through the rest of the week.
By the time Friday comes around, you are going to be one unstoppable dream-chasing, awe-inspiring individual!
Motivational Monday is all about you and your dreams, desires, and goals. This is your opportunity to shine. I believe in you… now I just need you to believe in yourself.

Thanks for stopping by, Lauren! Wishing you all the best!!!!
I love this! Everyone complains about Mondays, but I see them as a fresh start to a new week:) Great post!
I need to bookmark this and read it every Monday! Seriously, this is so great. I’ve always hated Mondays (except in elementary and middle school, because I seriously loved school so much. #nerd), but I think it has a lot to do with the mindset that I put myself in at the start of the week. I really need to start turning that around! #fireworkpeople
I love this and definitely needed to read it today! I’ve had zero motivation to do laundry and clean the kitchen, but I’m doing it write now. haha I know I will be thankful once it’s done! Thanks for the encouragement!
I’m glad you found it encouraging, Logan! I think it can be so hard to get motivated, but I always feel better once I finally get started with something.
Great idea! Thanks for the motivation and the inspiration to make a change!
Thanks for sharing!
I think I need to read this every week day haha. Monday’s are as hard for me as Thursday’s are. I know that’s weird but right now Thursday is my last day of the work week and for some reason those are my hardest days. I just want to relax but the little guy I nanny always seems to be the most energetic on Thursdays.
I hear ya, girl! I’m thinking about writing one for every day of the week so that I have no excuse to not feel motivated or inspired 🙂
I love this! Even though I’m not reading it till Tuesday, it’s so fitting. It’s so easy to get sucked into negative thinking, I like this idea of making a point of being positive. Fabulous!
Oh, I love this! I consider myself a positive person, but I never thought that dreading Mondays and pouting my way through the day was not the way to go! I do make up my to-do lists to get my week in order, but you’ve inspired me to face each Monday with a more positive attitude! 🙂
I’m so glad, Vicky! Own those Mondays!
wonderful!! Even though Mondays are a little sad, I do experience a sense of motivation similar to what you’re suggesting! After a weekend of tearing the house apart, I also feel extra accomplished getting it all cleaned up, lol!! (the little things… 😉 )
The little things really do make ALL the difference!
This post is so true! I find myself sometimes dreading Monday on Sunday, how crazy is that. You are right on when you suggest taking Monday and making it your inspiration for the week by writing your goals down. I am going to do this now being that it is Monday morning. 🙂
It’s a dreary Monday here but I’m doing my best to stay motivated as well! I’ve already started writing some of my goals and ideas down 🙂
What a great way to start my week off!
This particular Monday is a snow day in our town so everyone is excited for it. 🙂 Now that I’m self – employed, Mondays are a good day.
For me personally I do not mind if it’s Monday or Friday. Any day is perfect.
This is such a positive post! I really believe that everyday is a blessing….I am sure people who have only a few days to live would love to have a bunch of Mondays left!!
You are so right about every day being a blessing, Jamie!!!
Great thoughts! I’m extremely unmotivated today for some reason but I’m going to change that and finish out my day strong.
You got this girl! Don’t let those Mondays get you down 🙂
It’s only noon on Monday, but I was already dreading the week ahead… until I saw your post! Thanks soooo much for the boost you didn’t even know I needed!
I’m so glad it gave you a boost! I hope this weekend rocks for you!
I love this! Being a SAHM, I love Mondays, it’s like my Saturday 🙂
This is JUST what I needed to hear! Make our Mondays fabulous so our week is wonderful! 🙂
