When you’re starting to think about your career, things really aren’t as they used to be. Years and years ago, there were only a few leading careers that you could really consider if you wanted to make a lot of money and be successful. But these days, things have changed. They’ve drastically changed in the sense that the internet has opened so many doors for us all.
The things we learn in school might be somewhat the same, but we can all learn so many new skills that can point us in different directions. If you’re someone that has never dreamed of becoming a doctor or a lawyer, but you love the idea of doing something creative, being your own boss, and having the potential to earn a lot of money, then blogging could be for you.
If you would like to become a blogger either now or in the future, then these are the steps to take to make it happen.
Decide On What You’ll Do
First of all, you’re going to want to think about what kind of blog you can write. What niche do you want to have? It can be as niche, such as gluten-free recipes, or as wide as you like, like lifestyle topics in general. Think about your interests and your skills and what you can do to add value in blog posts. Make sure that you can think of at least 25-50 blog posts ideas within the niche, this is how you know it’ll be a success.
Get Set Up
Then you need to create the blog. This means thinking up a domain name and setting up hosting. You’ll also want to find a design for your blog too – you can usually get a premade template for this. Once you’re up and running, you just need to then dive on in and start creating content.
Find Guidance
Next, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re on the right track. It can seem hard and confusing when you’re new to the world of blogging. And so, it’s a good idea to follow other bloggers, like Benjamin Spooner, and use their journeys as an example. You can read a lot about their work or stay motivated and get inspiration too. As much as you really do need to be unique, it can help you to learn a lot as you’re going along.
Set Goals
But then also, you’re going to want to make sure that you are focusing on this as a career and that means that you want it to go somewhere. When that’s the case, setting goals can help you. Think about what you can do to set milestones for yourself, how you want to grow in terms of readership and reach and also what monetization goals you want to have too. This will be such an important step if you do want to be able to make a lot of money blogging.
