5 Ways Of Staying Safe On Your Way To Work

Going to work is a normal part of life. It’s not something we think much about, nor do we worry about what could meet us on our daily commute. However, life has a funny way of making simple things complex. Did you know that between 2007 and 2016, 40,000 people lost their lives, just on their way to work? This has shocked many people when they read the reasons why. They range from sleepiness, arguing with other road users, not seeing larger vehicles on the road and also, loss of focus during the evening. A whopping 62% of deaths to and from work, occurred during the evening. So how do you stay safe on the way driving to college or work?

Workout in the morning

Doing some basic exercises during the morning routine can help your body wake up, in turn, waking up your mind. When the blood is flowing and you’re sweating or panting, this is going to fuel your brain with new red blood cells. Carrying fresh oxygen to your brain, the extra flow of red blood cells, will also help carry away the waste products built up during sleep.

Respect the lights

It can be easy to get all worked up and run a red light, when you’re late for work. But please don’t! Is your life worth the equivalent to waiting 60 seconds in traffic? In 2019, 143,000 people suffered injuries or death from running a red light. This accounts for a lot of the road accidents in cities.

Don’t get involved

It’s easy to get sucked into a road rage battle, especially when you’re frustrated. Most of us are easily annoyed in the morning, because our body and mind are feeling tired and once again, we might be late for work. But do not get involved with someone who just seems to want to pick a fight. They might have cut you off or they are honking at you because they think you did. Just do what you can to diffuse the situation.

Pay attention

Most of us are more likely to get involved in a crash, on our commuting journey because of one reason. We become too familiar with their journey. We know what to expect over each cress, what’s at the end of every street and how long it usually takes to get from one end of the road to the other. But this is where we can get caught out by the unexpected. So don’t get lazy and go into autopilot when on your commute.

Hit and hurt

Big shock, you’re not alone on the road. The cars around you could be the reason why you get into an accident. You did nothing wrong but you were hit and hurt. One way you can help yourself, is to have the contact information of a good car accident lawyer. They will get you the money you need for any recovery bills from the hospital or from lost revenue due to time off from your job.

Staying safe on the roads while you go to work, is not always the easy task we think it is. These are some ways you can stay safe, but which one do you think is the best one?
